A long break

It's been just over a year since I last posted and a lot has happened, not surprisingly!

Here's a few of the highlights:
  • As you will have seen above, Bardoe cut his hair! Yes, long gone is the Pirates of the Carribean-esque ponytail and he now resembles more one of the Three Muskateers.
  • We have booked our ceremony venue and decided to go with Daniels in the Park for our reception.
  • Changed our theme from "Kings and Queens" to "Masquerade Ball"
  • I found THE DRESS! A glorious creamy satin dress with champagne lace worth $3000 which I bought second hand off trademe for a steal (though for that price it was more like an Ocean's Eleven hiest).
  • Created and posted my bridemaids' invitations - photos to come.
  • Purchased the fabric for the bridesmaids' dresses and have almost finished putting them together (waiting on two of my five bridemaids to confirm).
  • Decided to make our own wedding cake... Now just have to find the perfect cake recipe! We are thinking a 3 or 4 tier, 'crooked' style, rich vanilla cake with brown and gold swirls and white frosting.
  • Our good friends, Daniel and Jasmine got engaged and are getting married on August 28th 2010. Bardoe is best man and I am a bridemaid so have been busy sewing the dresses.

Well that is all that comes to mind right now, photos coming soon.

My love

SOURCE

"Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth for thy love is better than wine.
And the roof of thy mouth like the best wine for my beloved,
that goeth down sweetly,
causing the lips of those that are asleep to speak.
I am my beloved’s and his desire is toward me.
Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field;
let us lodge in the villages.
Let us get up early to the vineyards;
Let us see if the vines flourish,
whether the tender grape appear,
and the pomegranates bud forth:
There i will give thee my loves.
The mandrakes give a smell,
and at our gates are all manner of pleasant fruits,
new and old, which i have laid up for thee,
O my Beloved”

Engagement Cake

Mr B's lovely neighbour surprised us by baking the most scrumptious looking cake for the occasion of our engagement! Unbeknown to her it also fits in with our wedding colours..

Mr B takes a whiff of the deliciousness that is our cake

Doesn't it look absolutely delicious?!

We have yet to decide when to eat this cake.. but I'm getting impatient to try it so it probably won't be too long!
